Omen?

Are we an omen to disaster or are we the best people to be with?

1) We visit Manhattan for the first time a few years back. We happened to arrive 15 hours before the entire Eastern seaboard had its lovely blackout. AND we also missed being trapped in the subways when the power went out by about an hour since we decided to get to The Daily Show taping we had hoped to attend early.

2) We visit New Orleans and six months later Katrina happens.

3) We visit Minnesota last year for one week. While in MN, the thing in London happened that caused all the problems with carry on luggage.

4) We go to Kitt Peak in early July this year. It was that night or the next day after we left the observatory when the mountain it is on caught on fire.

5) We visit Minnesota this year. We travel on 35W over the Mississippi at about 10a.m. this morning and then we drove over the Mississippi again at about 5:30 this evening. We weren't on the 35W. We were on that highway that is still standing and runs parallel to the 35W... You've probably seen it in the news if you're watching CNN this evening. So we missed the 35W collapse by 35 minutes.

Sooo... Are we the omen of doom OR are we the safest people to be hanging with if you're into exciting vacations?
