Waiting for Dell
"Anxiety is caused by a lack of control, organization, preparation, and action." -- David Kekich
Isn't that quote the truth? I'm reading a book on productivity right now. It seems my to do list always is growing and I always feel like I am responding to things that need my attention NOW rather than being proactive and getting ahead on my list of things to do. It seems like big goals that aren't a "must do" never get touched. So perhaps my book will help. I started reading it months ago, but since it wasn't a "must do" it fell away to the "get to it later" pile in my office.
I'm waiting for my new laptop from Dell to arrive today. It should've been here by 3:00p.m. It's 3:15p.m. No sign of FedEx yet. It's actually a replacement laptop for the one I just got two weeks ago. The first one got really angry at being asked to connect to the Net wirelessly. There was one place I could get it to behave, but even then it accessed the web very slowly. This is a nicely loaded laptop. It shouldn't have speed issues... At all. I got in in hopes that I could use it as I do my desktop while I am away from home. My first laptop tried its hardest but it was just a baby in power and so I used it to do many things, but never hardcore graphics work.
Anyway, after being on tech support for a total of five hours during two calls, I gave up. I called customer support and they waved their magic wand and agreed to send me a new computer. Let's hope this one runs like a dream. The funny part is the first laptop that I purchased two years ago runs beautifully now that we re-installed Windows and got rid of all the crap. I'd keep it except it doesn't have enough power to run my graphics software.
Oh, and as for the always present weight loss quest, I have worked out for about an hour a night for the last two nights, stretching before doing my cardio. I avoided the bitchy scale today and I'm talking myself into waiting for a week or so before I check it again since it doesn't want to play nice.
