Long Time, No Post

Bummer... Haven't been here in a VERY long while.

We finished our ART 103 Typography class. Burt and I created some really cool work while in the class and I think we got mostly what we set out to get from the class, which was a better understanding of making type work design wise and understanding the voice of typefaces.

The semester finished with amazing grace. The students were happy and I was pleased. I like to connect more with my students than I was able to this past fall, but ultimately it is about them and what they need. They all seemed to progress in the subjects I taught them and they seemed happy, so I guess all was well. This semester has started off beautifully with great energy in all classes. Can't wait for this next week. I plan to incorporate things I learned from last semester's type class into my classes this spring.

We got busy in the fall. As an example, the business secured three new clients in the last three weeks of the year. Crazy. I'm counting down the days and weeks till the end of this semester. Why? Because I've figured how much time things take based on my time tracking from last semester and if I have an ugly week, it could literally be 100 hours of work. If I have a gentle week, it will probably be 80 hours. Now, that does include 7 hours of working out, but still... Can't wait for the nastiness to end.
