Early...
It's quite early in the morning. I'm about to get some sleep. I think I'll actually get eight hours again on Saturday or maybe Sunday. I love that I'm way busy but I DON'T love the transitions I'm going through at the moment. I'm learning to delegate more and I'm also learning to keep a good attitude in spite of a ridiculous list of to do.
Sometimes it's like this, where I go through about as much panic at the end of the semester as the students do... Usually for entirely different reasons, but nonetheless I can sympathize with them and they for me.
Oh, my laptop fried last week. Did I mention this? If so, spare the story and get outta here. I have a Dell laptop. It's two years old. I have a service contract with them that I've kept up on. They diagnosed the nasty little hard drive, told me the problem and had a new, upgraded one to me the next day before noon. They've spent hours helping us install the OS and drivers and we're still going to be calling them back to finish installing stuff. Crazy. This is the first computer I've purchased from a company rather than having one built. It seems I work my computers to an early death, so I go through them about every year and a half to two years. Each time it has been a mad panic to get another computer up and running, but not this time. I have two now, a desktop and a laptop. I had a warranty so I didn't have to go buy a whole new laptop. I have had endless help working with the new hard drive instead of making my best guess so as not to bother the generous friend that built or repaired the thing. This rocks. I know Dell comes with a lot of crap installed on it, but for that kind of service, who cares.
